Philips Prestigo 8 Device Universal Remote

The Philips Prestigo SRU8008/27 Universal Remote Control features an icon design that allows you to customize programming by user or by viewing category. The multi-device remote controls TV, DVD, Tivo, VCR, satellite, cable, audio, DVR and more. The universal IR code database allows the remote to control your equipment without needing to learn individual signals.

Select the correct infrared code sets in the database for the devices you want to control, to enable control of virtually every audio/video system element on the market today regardless of model or brand. The learning functionality enables the remote control to capture and store infrared signals from other remotes for later use. When a device code is not included in the on-board database, it can be learned from the original remote, simply by pointing to it.

Enjoy the convenience of the activity based user interface that blends the most commonly used functions into activities such as watch a movie or listen to CD. You can select `watch a movie', rather than having to address each individual piece of equipment such as DVD player, TV and multimedia receiver. One button holds all the necessary commands to be able to start watching a movie. The rotary cursor enables you to navigate through the setup menu and the device pages, in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions. The large LCD color display and backlighting provides easy readability and use of the remote.

Features:

- Multi-Device universal remote controls: TV, VCR, SAT, DVD, tuner, CD, AMP and receiver
- Activities to control multiple devices with one button press
- Easy-to-read 1.4-inch LCD color display with backlighting for convenience in the dark
- Convenient IR learning from other remotes
- On-device step-by-step instructions to setup equipment - no manual needed

Here's what one customer had to say...

"I ordered this remote to replace the one I lost that came with my Philips 42pf9630 television. Other universal remotes say they support Philips televisions but only volume, and channel controls really work. Disappointing. However, this remote fully supported my TV; the menu button, arrow keys, and special function buttons all work just like the remote the TV came with.

I wasn't aware of this when I purchased it but this remote comes pre-programmed with controls for Media Center PCs. I was thinking I would need to use the learning function to get my MCE PC to work, but those controls worked out of the box. I'm very happy with my purchase."
